Arbor Day Tree Planting

Come celebrate Arbor Day by planting Ponderosa pine seedlings with Mountain Studies Institute and the San Juan National Forest!

We will meet at Animas City Park at East 32nd St and East 2nd Ave at 9:30, organize carpool, and proceed to the Missionary Ridge Gravel Pit parking area. Please be aware that the google map link is not properly recognizing the location of Animas City Park. It is on the corner of East 32nd St and East 2nd Ave.

San Juan National Forest forester, Gretchen Fitzgerald will provide background on the tree-planting program and lead us in planting Ponderosa pine seedlings for restoration.

Please bring a lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, work gloves, and layers to prepared for southwest Colorado’s variable spring weather. Tools will be provided.

This program will be capped at 12 volunteers.
