PikaNet Volunteer Training 2026

  • Velocity Basin Silverton, CO, 81433 United States (map)

MSI is happy to announce our 2026 PikaNet Volunteer training. If you're interested in environmental science and want to volunteer for our most popular citizen science project, PikaNet, then you're in luck! REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Join us on June 12th, 2026 from 9:30am - 2:00pm at Velocity Basin. Learn what Pika are, why they matter, and how we monitor their populations. Pika are indicator species. They live at the highest elevations here in Colorado, and can tell us a great deal about the climate and changes to the high alpine environment. We need your help looking for Pika and tracking their presence. Once you're trained, you can independently help report your pika sightings on hikes, bike rides, float trips and more! Visit www.mountainstudies.org/pikanet or email education@mountainstudies.org for more information.
